A global health and healing event which will unfold across the planet on Saturday, April 28th, 2007, 10:00 am worldwide.
Beginning in New Zealand, this event will spread time zone by time zone across the globe through US 50 states and over 60 countries across 6 continents… This health and healing wave will be spectacular visual site, but also promote calm and wellness worldwide.
Mass Tai Chi and Qigong (Chi Kung) Exhibitions and workshops will be held at Audubon Park across from Tulane University in order to educate New Orleans citizens about the benefits of the Traditional-Chinese-Therapeutic exercises of Tai Chi and Qigong (Chi Kung).
Tai Chi and Qigong (Chi Kung) are health technologies evolved over several thousand years of research in China and now growing in popularity worldwide. They are used in hospitals, business, schools, prisons and governmental institutions. Tai Chi and Qigong are the exercise of the mind and body, having shown in research to reduce anxiety, depression, arthritis, back pain, and other chronic pain conditions. They help to boost the immune system, improve respiratory circulatory function, burn calories, drastically improve balance, provide cardiovascular benefits, provide powerful stress management tools, and slow aspects of aging process. In fact, recent research studies conducted by UCLA found that older people who practiced Tai chi had a better immune response against the virus.
