Coach Jie Li a world Sanshou fighting champion and fighting coach in Sanshou Kickboxing, MMA and Muay Thai from Beijing, China will host seminars and workshops under the direction of grand master Shi DeRu. The seminars are scheduled in Atlanta, Mobile, and New Orleans. He will join the full-time Shaolin Cultural Fellowship/Apprentice Warrior Training program starting on July 9th with 8-day and 8-night intensive Shaolin Warrior Training on Shaolin Institute Atlanta Campus.

Coach Li Jie, a world Sanshou kickboxing fighting champion and combat fighting coach in Sanshou Kickboxing, MMA and Muay Thai from the Beijing Sports University, has just joined LIU International Shaolin Institute (LIU) as part of our International Fellowship/Internship Program. For the next few months, he will participate in the Shaolin Kungfu Instructor/Master Training Program.Furthermore, he will also be instructing several seminars and workshops that will be available to all levels of fighters (amateur and professional) in Chinese kickboxing (Sanshou/Sanda), MMA and Muay Thai Kickboxing. Seminars will be held in the following Shaolin Institute Campuses: Atlanta, GA , Mobile, AL and New Orleans, LA. Coach Li Jie will begin the Shaolin Fellowship/Apprentice Warrior Program participating in the 8-Day and 8-Night Intensive Shaolin Warrior Program at the Atlanta Campus. This is the 2nd time that Coach Li Jie has received training at the LIU. On his first visit (2004), he trained for a few months with the grand master and his senior Sanshou student Patrick Barry at the New Orleans and Mobile Campuses. As a representative of LIU, Li Jie participated in the US Open International Martial Arts Championship, the K. Super Star Professional Sanshou event. He won the Sanshou K. Superstar World Champion title by defeating Louisiana’s MMA fighter Rich Clementi “No Love.” Li Jie has been practicing Sanshou for over ten years and he has also trained in Muay Thai and Grappling for many years. He has participated in many fights in and outside of China. Li Jie was the winner of first World Sanshou Cup and has won the title of Sanda King in China’s Professional Sanda League in the 70 kg weight division. He was also the champion in the People’s Republic of China Sanda Game in 2001, the National Games of Sanda Championship, the National Professional League of Sanda Fighting and the Chinese Martial Arts “Sanda” Professional League in 2000 and 2001. Due to his outstanding accomplishments, he has been awarded by China’s Sports Ministry with the title International Top Notch Kung Fu Sanshou Master Sportsman.
A champion in the ring, Li Jie has shown that he is an excellent teacher outside of the ring. As a coach at the Beijing Sports University- College of Wushu-Sanda, he has produced a total of 15 champions who have fought both nationally (in China) and internationally. He has been named an Outstanding Coach of the Beijing Sports University for three consecutive years and has earned the National Sports Medal of Honor twice.LIU International Shaolin Institute (LIU) is a private institute that is directly derived from the Shaolin Temple in Henan Province, China which is the birthplace of all martial arts.
